Spanish moss is part of the bromeliad family and grows naturally in warm, humid climates, where it absorbs moisture and nutrients directly from the air.
Spanish moss has no roots and grows freely hanging from tree branches or other supports. It grows in long, hanging strands that can be several meters long.
