Alocasia 'simpo', an exciting hybrid with unique heritage.
Alocasia simpo is a cross between Alocasia sinuata x Alocasia 'Lukiwan'. Alocasia 'simpo' combines the characteristic, deeply textured leaves of both Alocasia sinuata and Alocasia 'Lukiwan'. The leaves are glossy and bubbly in texture, and as the plant matures, an open sinus develops at the base of the leaf. This is what gives the leaves of many other plants their 'ears'.
Care.
Alocasia simpo thrives in well-drained soil rich in organic nutrients such as worm castings. In winter, the plant can be placed in the sun but should be protected from direct sun in summer. Water the soil just before it dries out so that it is always slightly moist.
Botanical description.
The variety is named after Bukit Simpo in Malaysia, where one of Wawan Santoso's former workplaces was located. Wawan is the collector who crossed this variety.
Appearance.
Alocasia 'simpo' is also available in variegated forms with white or yellow elements, making it a sought-after plant for collectors. Buy Alocasia simpo online!

Jag gillar tanken på att ha några levande drakar som sällskap i lägenheten nu när jag inte längre har en katt att snacka med.
Låt oss veta vad den säger! Kanske pratar den om Ormbunker bakom våra ryggar? 😄 / Alicja
