Phytoseiulus persimilis
Phytoseiulus persimilis
The spider mite, Phytoseiulus persimilis , is effective in controlling spider mites. The predatory mites are 0.5 mm long and red-orange in colour.
The bottle with predatory mites should be opened only at the infested plants. If the spinner mites are not visible in the lid, carefully pour some of the substrate onto a piece of white A4 paper. Then the predatory mite can clearly be seen running across the surface of the paper.
The bottle is held horizontally. Swirl the bottle carefully so that the predatory mites are distributed evenly in the granulate. Sprinkle small portions on the top of the leaves. These should be kept moist so that the granules are retained for some time and the mites can come around and look for prey on the plant. Notice that the predatory mites can also be used outdoors on, for example, strawberries and raspberries and more. Image and description from Biobasiq Sweden. Buy utility animals for spin online!
